Its core tool runs on rates you enter, and its rate context comes from Freddie Mac's Primary Mortgage Market Survey and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau guidance.

Every figure on this site traces to a named public source with a check date shown on the page. Where a number is an example or a planning estimate, the page says so in plain language. We would rather show a range with its limits than a precise number we cannot defend.

How publishing works here

• A named source is captured first. No source, no page.
• Figures are rechecked on the cadence described in our methodology.
• Corrections are logged and dated. If we get a number wrong, we fix the page and note the change.
• Content is written in an editorial voice. We do not publish fake author profiles, invented credentials, ratings, reviews, or testimonials.
